DeKalb County, Georgia Thunderbolts

There definitely was a Tbolt on the Emory campus. I saw it a few times. I'm pretty sure it was somewhere along Fishburne; just not exactly certain of location.

I was told it was in front of a hall that was demolished to make way for the hospital that is on the campus.

I believe that Emory Tbolt was either at or near the intersection of Fishburne and Clifton.

Just for the heck of it, I'm going to post my photos I have of some of the old siren poles. I sure didn't see any riots or chants about it though...

I usually don't drive around to go specifically to them. If they are in the area in which i am, I usually stop at them and snap a few photos of them.

I believe that is where the old Thunderbolt was mounted before the county had them all scrapped. It looks like the mount is still on the pole. It was one of the five original AT1000s installed in the 1960's, A2 series with a 5M blower from what I understand. I guess they went ahead and installed the Whelen on the wooden pole since this one was probably too low.

I hate to sound like a jerk, but I think that tower was an old communications tower for the fire station. It just does not look like a siren could or would be mounted on it. I could be wrong though.
