Altus, Oklahoma Sirens Question

Sun Nov 15, 2015 11:32 pm

Does anyone know what sirens the city of Altus, Oklahoma has in its system? I'm a little confused by what I've found. I know the city has 12 sirens. I found a post on here from 2009 that says they have 7 Model 5s and a news article from 2013 about siren repairs that shows a picture of a Whelen (however, news stations often use stock photos of random siren models). Any info would be much appreciated.

Down to a Thunderbolt chopper, still a few goofy flashlight-siren combos, and a Model L.

They have a system. From what I remember and have found they are mostly Federal Model 5's and 2T22's. If you do a google search there used to be a page with maps of all the sirens in that county.

Altus also has Allertronic AL-8000s in the city and near Lake Altus Dam.

I found two Allertronics on Hwy 44A near Lake Altus.

In town they have a Thunderbolt, STH-10, and a few 2T22's and Model 5's. The air force base has ATI's. I have locations on my state wide map, but it's on my Mac back in Colorado so I'm unable to access them at this time.
Kicking it in the siren party since '08
