Besides the Allertronic is a much older design than the Vortex, maybe even older than the 3016.

I know nothing about electronic sirens. What is a driver/throat? Is it the thin part on Whelen Vortexes, between the flat thing and the opening? I'm sorry if I'm doing a terrible job describing this.

Yes, the throat is what connects the drivers to the projection horn. It's job is to carry the sound out through the front opening.

I own: One complete SiraTone, another SiraTone control module, a 1600W MC, 2 old ATI controllers, 2 round ATI horns with drivers, a ATI-DSA 4 thing, a Federal Signal FC, AR timer and Siratrol, and a small CD&F.

The "Throat" is just the small end of the projector.
