How good are ATI's

Not to go off topic, I would say the worst invention would be the nuclear bomb, since even an ATI would save lives during such situations.

No, the ATI control software would freeze up, half the sirens would not sound, and the other half would blow their drivers during the warning.

ATI's are now in the St. Louis metro area: the City of Arnold, south of St. Louis, has installed 6 ATI's. Hope no one else around here gets any ideas. :x

How good Are ATI's?

Thu Apr 19, 2007 12:41 am

I've made comments about the Nashville ATIs previously.

The Saturday before Easter I stopped my practicing a couple of minutes before noon to listen for the one at West End Middle School.

On 1st Saturday of March I heard it inside the church sanctuary. Had this been on a Sunday it probably wouldn't have been heard.

This month I didn't hear it at all; waited a few minutes after noon to resume practicing.

Some 1st Saturdays when I've been at home I've heard the Crieve Hall School siren faintly..or not at all. A few times if a good wind was blowing towards the house I heard it distinctly.

IMHO, ATIs aren't loud enough and are too high pitched.
