Whelen European tone sets

Sun Apr 10, 2016 3:42 pm

In a scenario (eg McKinney TX) where USA uses European tone sets, is there a special cabinet for those or do they specially replace the original tones on the cabinet with European ones and just send out normal DTMFs?

Nothing special. A setting is checked in the programming software to enable the alternate tone-set.

Yup. Takes about 10 seconds in the computer, I've thought about trying it on one of the sirens in Fort Worth lol.

Interesting. I would think Fort Worth would be better off with a alternate tone set, considering all they do for tests is 10 seconds of Wail ha. But anyway, the alternate tones appear to have a longer range.
