Here are the production years. The 408, 812, 115 and M*12 began production in 1975 and ended in 1985 in favor of the 612 and 1212. The 1212 was produced from 1985 until 1994 when the Modulator came out. I remember the 612 was still available upon special request around 2002-2005.

Where are you getting that 1975 date? That seems to be a misconception floating around here. The EOWS sirens are commonly agreed to have been rushed into production in the early 80s to compete with Whelen and all the documentation about the early, short lived EOWS sirens comes from the early 80s.

Oh, absolutely. It says in that brochure from 1983 that the 408 was 126dB, thats 2dB louder than the 612 is supposed to be. I'd take a guess and say that the 812 was in the 126-128 range.

2 things. You spelled operational wrong on the 1212. Also, I doubt there is 12 drivers on the 812, because it would be strange for 4 of the drivers to have 2 drivers, and 4 to have just 1.

I wouldn't doubt that was very well the case with those 812s considering all of the EOWS C/B controllers I've ever seen only supported up to six 200W amplifiers, meaning they would still be limited to only 1200W total using twelve 100W compression drivers. I have a pretty good feeling that's the main reason why they eliminated the top row of speakers and moved those two drivers to double up behind the other pair of speakers and even everything out, thus creating the 612.

Yeah, Wikipedia is not right nor is "everyone." It's the early 80s, pure and simple.

The SiraTone brand's trademark was filed in November 1981 and registered in June 1984. The brand's first use in publications and/or commerce was July 1981. It ran until March 2005 upon which it was cancelled and the EOWS* 612 ended production shortly thereafter.
