Channel WAFF 48 was filming at the original Blossomwood Elementary School 1321 Woodmont Ave SE, Huntsville, AL 35801. The old school was demolished and replaced around 2012.

Here is a picture of the Old Blossomwood School. You can see the Altec Giant Voice Warning System in the picture.

The EMA scene was filmed in the Old EMA office that was located in the basement of the Huntsville City Hall 308 Fountain Cir SW, Huntsville, AL 35801.

Hi Nicholas!

Unfortunately, I did not get one of the Multi-Cell Horns. I wish that I could have gotten at least one of them as a keepsake. When the system was removed, everything was trashed. Originally, there was at total of 15 site locations thought the city of Huntsville Alabama. You're looking at approximately 60 of these Multi-Cell horns (4 per each site) with 120 Horn Drivers (2 per each horn) not counting all the amplifiers at each site location.

Here is a picture of the Amplifier Rack/Cabinet that was located at the Multi-Cell Horn sites and the Horns on top of the towers.

By the way, Salina, Kansas and Crockett, Texas had the Altec Giant Voice Systems from the 1960's too!

Here is a Google Map picture from Salina, Kansas. This is Heusner Elementary School located at 1282 Norton St. Salina, Kansas. This picture is from 2013. I'm not sure if this system is still operating. The Google Map satellite image from 2016 shows these horns still located at this school.

Would be nice is someone in this location could go and get pictures and information on Salina's old Altec Giant Voice System.

Here is an update to Salina, Kansas. It looks like their old 1965 Altec Giant Voice warning system was discontinued a long time ago. The horns in the picture above were never removed. It would be great if someone could get those horns and see what might be left of this old historical system. What a great piece of history you could own. I have attached Salina's current list of warning systems.

This looks EXTREMELY similar to a Altec, except the back of it.. the driver doesn't bend up, and the horns go around near theb ack, but the front looks exactly like it, even the 10 horns!

Yeah that's either from an outdoor football stadium or auditorium. I went to a church while on vacation once as a kid and they used them for the sound system. Thought it looked really cool, and also creepy.

This Multi (10) Cell Horn was made by Altec. Altec made many style Horns, Speakers, and attachments that were used for many purposes. Altec's fame came from selling sound systems to Movie Theaters. They were called the "The Voice of the Theater". SirenkiD is correct. The horn was either used in a Football Stadium or Auditorium. This would explain the Metal Angle "L" brackets attached to the horns.

Here are pictures of two different Altec systems that would have been located behind the Movie Screen.

Altec's Giant Voice Warning System had the option of different Horns, Throats, Adapters, and Drivers. Here are some additional pictures of these options.
By the way, the Multi (10) Cell Horns were the standard used in the Giant Voice Warning System, with two Voice Drivers. You could attach (4) Voice Drivers, if you wanted it.
