Oh, yeah - I forgot about that one. Now that my friend is temporarily living back with her parents there, I oughta go visit her there, just for the siren. ;)

Just south of Topeka in Osage County a lot of their towns sound their sirens daily at noon.

Lyndon sounds their Sentry at 8a, noon and 6p.
Carbondale sounds their Whelen 2805s at noon and 6p.
I think a few of their other towns sound the sirens daily too.

I might also add Burlington, KS has a sentry downtown that sounds daily three times as well, and that's it only purpose.

Now that I live in Aberdeen, SD I noticed when I moved that during the first week I moved (officially moved to Aberdeen, SD on June 10th, last year), the sirens here in Aberdeen went off surprisingly at 6 PM every Wednesday for a while, then they stopped. Now they're doing it again, weather permitting every Wednesday at 6. The apartment I live at has a siren right across the street from it, and I intend to get a good recording of it sometime before winter hits.
