Derek says that the 2001 sounds for fire calls too, while the 1000 sounds only for noon whistles and fire calls.

That's interesting that they run both sirens for firecalls. Any idea if they do it simultaneously? Seems like an interesting idea (since the sirens are only a few hundred feet apart).

They must have changed the protocol for the use of the sirens since I last heard about them, sorry for the error in my post.

I think for fire calls, the 1000 sounds alert, and the 2001 sounds fast wail, because Derek used to have a test video of them both sounding like that at the same time. The 2001 must sound alert for weather warnings since videos showed it sounding alert by itself.

RIP old Denver sirens, the old warning system was removed back in 2013, now all of the sirens are FS 2001s.
Currently the owner of a small homemade siren called the CWS-110, and, a newly acquired STL-10A from Vinita, OK.
