Fifth, I believe, though one of the records of St. Louis's ones has been deleted.uncommonsense wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 8:36 pmHats off to you. What a remarkable find. While it's a shame it's been FPUed, this is still, what, the third or fourth of these sirens caught on video?
Amazing find. Thank you for sharing.
To be completely honest, I am kinda glad and it's sister 3000 got FPUed, because most of the analog Whelens in this area have been removed in recent years. With them being digital now it should be easier to keep em going.uncommonsense wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 8:36 pmHats off to you. What a remarkable find. The 2000R was made to be a rotating siren tone only siren, effectively making it the predecessor to the Hornet. Voice capabilities were an option. If I'm not mistaken the ones in STL oscillated. There was a video like a decade ago of one on YouTube running in alert, but like David said the video was removed. Those were voice capable, so I'm guessing they were equipped with a WS-3000 rotator when they were ordered as voice capable sirens. That system was a beauty. It kinda sucks that they were replaced, but it was for the best.
They did. I distinctly remember them doing so.DJ2226 wrote: If I'm not mistaken the ones in STL oscillated.
