The Official NC Siren Map (BIG update 7/25/2021)

Mon Jul 15, 2019 11:33 pm

It's taken awhile, but I've now completed the siren map for North Carolina! Its 20+ years of memories, notes, sightings, websites, and other enthusiasts' reports. PLEASE let me know if I've missed anything or if there are any errors. I've taken this map as far as I can and I want the rest of the community to take it even further. Reply or PM me if you have anything to add. This thread will be moved to the Siren Map sub-forum in due time. Please feel free to share! BIG thanks goes out to all who have helped me (I will add credits in the near future). Happy siren hunting!

Also, please note there are several layers to the map

Dang, that’s one big map! Decent one, too!
Pretty much nothing can beat listening to Danny Harmon's railfanning videos while hunting for railroad signals in the middle of nowhere Ohio.

Phone Goat, your help was very much appreciated! JPPow357, if you find any more siren (or errors) let me know and I'll add them to the map. I've added a few more locations thanks to Brendan W. Also anyone is free to use this map data in their own maps or whatever!

The Sentry in Norlina is a 5V. You can tell by the way that the skirt is much larger than that of a 3V8.

Great map! Recently drove through the state and found a 2001 (not good with specific models, sorry) in the I-77/NC State route 24 junction in northern Charlotte. Thank you! Here are the coordinates:
35.3478, -80.8467

Thanks, that's part of the McGuire system that hasn't been completely mapped. Duke hasn't shared much about any of their plants unfortunately.

There is a pin for Avon showing an active model 5 (it's located in the hose tower).
