Unknown siren (mislabeled as Alertronic) in Edgerton, Kansas

Sun Sep 29, 2019 7:40 am

Found this while perusing the sirens of Kansas City. Does anyone here happen to know anything about this siren? I'm interested in knowing whether it's still standing or not. I don't think it's functional, it certainly doesn't look it. Does anyone have any closer photos or videos of this siren?

Whatever that is it's not an Alertronic. Wrong kind of horns and you'll note they're not symmetrical top and bottom. Looks like something homemade.

I get thru Edgerton fairly often....rolled thru there last week......I'll try and remember to take a look the next time I'm down that way.

The siren map I found this location on had it labeled as an Alertronic, although I agree it definitely doesn't look like any model I've ever seen. I wasn't sure though, I thought maybe there could be some kind of secret Altertronic I'm not aware of lol. I think funnily enough it looks sort of like a Cyclone minus the shroud and some other details. Very bizarre looking.

That would be cool! I was in the area very recently but decided to spend my limited time (in Kansas City altogether) checking out the Chrysler siren. I will certainly want to check this location out too next time I'm in the area

I think the idea of it being home made or LAWS might be spot on. I hope it's still up, since google maps in this location only shows 2011 images I'm not sure what it's status is

Could it possibly be a Motorola product?

I thought it could be a super old Whelen at first, but my best guess now is a Motorola.

It's looks like a LAWS 100S-P if you look up on google "motorola tornado siren" you'll find a black LAWS on the website Grainger.

I'll just link it. https://www.grainger.com/product/5EHH4? ... 9470114685!
