One of the main reasons I went down to the Gadsden area yesterday was to try and get their siren test. I chose to go after this Thunderbolt, since the EMA said it was still active, after asking them about it, and it was nearby to where I was. Sadly, the siren did not go, nor did the Model 2 nearby from what I could tell, and I'm not sure if it's active at all (given that it hasn't rotated in several years, according to street view). However, there was a pretty nice ambience of the surrounding Whelens, at least one of which sounded like a Vortex, even if it was partially drowned out by the traffic noise.
Etowah County tests on the second Tuesday of every month at 1 PM, weather permitting.
