New Member - Former MadahCom/Cooper Employee

I have lots of pics and knowledge on the MadahCom Products. I designed the Mobile Speaker Arrays there from 2004 to 2009 as well as the TacWave products.
I can help with some questions - though I am more mechanically inclined than electronics. So if you need any help or clarifications on this subject - I should be able to
be helpful or maybe share a good story.

To answer a few of the questions I have seen on here:

Sircom horn and amps? We started out with SirCom horn, amps, and other products from them. We then brought in some brilliant engineers who designed our own amplifiers and soon - all we were buying from SirCom was the horn and driver cover - so they jacked the price up 3X. So I was charged with finding a foundry and getting our own horns made. Found a Foundry right in Sarasota/Bradenton area to partner with - better to be lucky than good any day. Wes Palmer Foundry helped me develop the right formula of the correct aluminum and silicon. I added the Waves logo and we were off to the races at about 115.00 per horn and driver cover.

Trailer Manufacturer? I designed the trailer with another engineer buddy of mine (in SolidWorks) gave the design to a local trailer manufacturer to fabricate and build for us (StrongBack Trailers)
They build gorgeous boat trailers and customs and are great with aluminum welding. The finished trailer comes in at 2805 lbs and was designed to fit on a 463L military pallet system. Delivered to theater on a C-17, C-130, CV-22, or rotary blade aircraft as well. Survived initial range testing at Yuma and survived over 24 hours at Aberdeen Proving Grounds until a square tube failed. We increased the wall thickness of the tube after a forensic test, offered a new unit to Aberdeen and they passed trailer without second attempt due to thorough follow up paperwork.
We sold the units to Northrop Grumman for integral use in the C-RAM program, the U.K. MOD, Australia, Canada, Netherlands, Germany - all under U.N. contract. Also sold lots to the Marine Corps, U.S. Army, Maryland Air National Guard. For non-military use - sold several to colleges and large corporations for various use in addition to hardmounted systems on campus.

More details later, funny stories. Ask questions if you have any.

At Al Asad Air Base, we were replacing these trailers. Hydraulics were failing and they were deemed unsafe.
The Waves system with it's ties to the C-RAM program, made it the popular choice during the war.
It would warn those in the eminent path of an attack to run and seek cover and those who were already in a
safe place - their message was to shelter in place.

Preparing to load a C-5 Galaxy with 20 MSA's. These were heading to Camp Anaconda, also known as Balad Air Base.
This was in addition to dozens of permanently mounted speaker towers.

In Iraq - they would mount a single tower on a portion of concrete barrier and then they would locate and move as necessary around the base. This was a common setup.

Once we got away from the SirCom amplifiers and developed our own in-house board style amplifiers - the clarity really improved and we could go from the 6 horn configuration to the 8-horn version.

We sold about a dozen of these to the Canadian Air force that was heading to Afghanistan. They were able to purchase under a U.N. contract that was open. The Canadian guys wanted to name their trailers, which was common, but wanted to name them after Rush songs - several of the guys favorite Canadian rock band. So, as a Rush fan myself, this was fun. Can't find any of my other pics other than this one - Permanent Waves.....their was also Signals, Distant Early Warning, Red Sector A, Vital Signs, Digital Man, Test For Echo, and a handful of others.
