Mapleton 3T22 Noon Blast

Went back to Mapleton with a couple of other friends (SirenEnthusiast1003 and MarLanMC) so I could get a different shot of this siren. Definitely worth the 6 hours or so we spent on the train.

I live in Springville the city next to Mapleton and I'm trying to fix the 3t22. the damper is stuck shut, it is 3 phase, the flasher is not working and the af timer is behind a air compressor I can tell you when its done and you can hear it test fully working again! I will put pictures soon!

It's nice to see another Utah enthusiast on here! I believe the reason the lower damper is stuck shut, is because it's missing the solenoid mechanism all together. I think all you would need to do to fix it, is either remove the lower damper, or find a way to jam the lower damper open. Please keep me posted!

do you now where i can find a damper by any chance and the siren is 68 years old i finally got the paint off the label the rc6 model# is 815c402
what's the name of the paint sirens use/civil defense yellow

Unfortunately really the only way you can get a damper, is from a donor siren. Either that, or maybe have a machine shop replicate the remaining damper. I believe these sirens were painted with "Safety Yellow"
