I was wondering if there were any pictures of the sirens after the fire! I'm surprised they both held up that well, considering the fact there was, obviously, a fire along with the fact they collapsed. They both look to be operable still (cosmetically at least) so I'm curious as to whether they were salvaged or not.

I live only three miles from there, and in fact I could hear that Model 5 (the active one) from my house. However, I was visiting Boston, Massachusetts on a college tour trip at the time of the fire.

The actual date of the fire was July 5, 2016. I don't know where November came from.

The fire department has completely rebuilt, and they installed a Model 2 on December 30, 2019, and I can also hear it from my house.

The fire originated from one of the engines. As far as I know, nobody was badly hurt. I have no clue about the fate of the old sirens, as I have zero contact with anyone associated with the fire department. The Sterling does appear to have been remarkably intact, though it had already been out of service for a long time (they called it a back-up siren).
Architecture preservationist. I enjoy obscure history and mapping things, and grew up around sirens. Not planning to own one.
