Miniature Soundmaster Convert-A-Siren 115

Thu Dec 23, 2021 6:15 pm

I finally got around to making another siren, and this time I've decided to get into the mini siren models world. This was designed and built by me over the past few months, and I have plans on making more like this in the near future. (I'm focusing more on ACA sirens because most mini sirens right now are Fedelcode and Federal Signal models).
I have an unhealthy obsession with mini sirens.

Dang man. This is just unbelievable! The attention to detail on this model is unparalleled! I am especially impressed with that long coast down!

Wow! That is so cool! Great job on that! It’s so much like the real thing!

most 115's where coded tho.
you should try to make servo motor operated dampers for the coded hi lo, alt wail, pulse, and pulse wail signals

I'm actually working on that right now, it's going to use small solenoids instead of servos as this would be much closer to the real thing in terms of realism. Another issue that has to be tackled is building a controller that's capable of controlling both the solenoids and motor, I'm thinking something Arduino based might work but we'll have to see what I come up with.

i m solenoids on my carolina fire siren v1, and they are easier to control. i just use an adsustable turn signal flasher to make a pulse, than i run a spdt relay to switch them. they run regardless of how fast the motor is running, i can run alt wailalt steady, and with a switch i can run pulse
