How to Listen to DTMF tones?

Tue May 31, 2022 6:07 pm

I have a Baofeng UV-5R radio with absolutely no idea how to use it. I know that the tones for sirens are on frequencies, but I don't know what frequency. Looking for the frequency where the sirens are activated, specifically in the Upson County area. Is there some sort of website where I could see what frequenc(ies) the tones are? Any help would be appreciated.

Well, you can search it up. First result was 155.100.

just as a disclaimer, while it is legal to listen to these tones DO NOT under ANY circumstance attempt to activate a system by replaying tones. While you probably weren't going to anyways there have been instances of it before. It will land you in serious trouble if caught, and we'd like to prevent that :)

First of I'd look up Radio Reference if you want frequencies.
Second, if you are going to put in frequencies I would suggest that you get the Baofeng programming cable and CHIRP software.
There are hundreds of videos on how to program a UV-5R and other radios as well.
One more suggestion, if you are going to get the cable and CHIRP, I would disable transmitting on the radio.
I own a BF-F8HP (basically a 8 watt UV-5R) and if you need anymore info you can PM me
