Bloomington, MN Siren History

Fri Jun 24, 2022 12:12 am

Bloomington, Minnesota had a very interesting system back in the day. They had Thunderbolts, a Screamer or 2, Allertors, and 2 SD-10s. Majority of the sirens are replaced except one. A Thunderbolt 1003 located on an orange building in eastern Bloomington which was installed in October 1978. It was deactivated in 2019 but still up as of current day.
Owner of a Mini 5T and some other mini sirens. I use a SX540 and DJI Mini 2 SE for pictures & videos.

RIP Snowblower Allertor
Proud owner of a Lion King LK-100 hand crank siren. I also can also brag about riding behind a "Climax" locomotive...almost 10 years later.
Greetings from Morgantown West Virginia, home of the longest and oldest PRT system in the world!

The 3 SD-10s were located on
W 104th & Nicollet
Kell Ave S & W 90th (possibly not an sd-10)
W 84th & Irwin

All 3 were replaced years ago
