Yeah I only found this out recently, so a Chrysler is a lot closer than I thought, maybe I should probably try visitin New Zealand

Maybe 15 years ago - just going from loose memory - there were known to be two Chrysler-Bells still in China that the US sent over there. The only two known to remain. One had since been fitted with a large electric motor, and the other had a replacement engine that was different from the original. No idea if they were active then, or if they are still there now.

I wish I still had the video of one of our members walking around the sirens (and standing on them!), but I'm pretty sure it's gone. I poured through my old hard drive recently to get the Geek1229 Hurricane chopper video that I thought was gone forever. I didn't see this one during my adventure back in time.

Personally since I know very little about engines let alone what the difference is between the different ones, I had actually named it in good faith thinking I knew what I was looking at, my apologies but I’m not exactly sure what I should try and fix it up to But I’ll be happy to do so

I would imagine that when the siren found its new home, it was Chrysler-less.
The original 331 Hemi that powered the siren was also quite popular with the drag racers, so as a siren became decommissioned and put out of service, the 331's could be had for pennies on the dollar...or as I imagine "You buy the engine, you take the whole siren" and thus ,the drag racer, sold the rest for scrap. Finding an original 331 Hemi that's not already in an antique car would be practically impossible.
Even the 2nd generation Hemi , the 426 from 1964 -1971 would be next to impossible to find as well that's not already stuffed under the hood of some antique MOPAR. Imagine one of those power plants with the siren!!!
I would imagine that the modern day 3rd generation version Hemi's..... different sized engines since 2003, could be used , but with a certain degree of difficulty due to modern engine technology.

The use of the Chevy engine was probably due to availability of the engine and replacement parts, cost etc. etc. If I ever get my hands on an engine-less Chrysler siren , its going to end up being Ford powered because that's what I know best.

I can't believe it! Thank you so much for finding these. It had been so long that it felt like I was recalling a dream I had, but sure enough, there they are. The same sirens from those long-lost video clips. Beautiful Victory sirens in real life, the only known survivors.
