My Model 2 Coming to SirenCon 2025

Sat Sep 21, 2024 10:35 pm

So, I understand SirenCon 2025 is half a year away, at least. But when do you think signups for large sirens will start and end?

I am going to try signing up my Federal Electric Model 2 named “Stewart”, since it’s a still-working siren from 1934, that was in service for about 70 years as a fire and Civil Defense siren.
Before the world war, where sirens were used as air raid warnings, but for fire sirens, then during the Cold War for protection, and then even through using them for storm warnings until it came down to be replaced by a system of Sentry Sirens.

The siren came from Pennington NJ. Where they had two Model 2s, a Model 7 and an STH-10.
The siren was across the street from Wilson Apple Funeral home, where buildings now stand

At sirencon, it will be the first time it has run up at full power in many years. We have made sure the motor runs.

I am excited to see it there. When and where is Sirencon 2025? I am 3D printing my very own ACA Allertor, hopefully it will be put in the mini siren section.

Nothing has been officially declared, but all past Sirencons have been the first Saturday in June up at Tesomas Boy scout camp in Rhinelander WI

I know for sure the event is happening on Saturday May 31 but the registration still hasn't opened as of January 4th. When they finally release the info for 2025 it'll be here: https://www.sirencon.com/ and last year they had a google form posted for the siren sign-up.
