I believe they were only dual tone, but I don't know about any coded SD-10's

Federal Signal never made any coded SD-10s as far as I'm aware of, as there aren't any to exist. If they did offer them, they would have to be a special order, but I even doubt that they did that in the first place.

However, there is such thing as a single tone SD-10, but not really. People think that it's either a prototype version of an SD-10 or an STH-10 using SD-10 housing. There's a video of it on YouTube that for some reason I can't find right now. It's in a village in Illinois, which is why people think it could be a prototype.

That thing is not a prototype, nor is it even a Federal by the looks of it. The rotor/stator don't match anything Federal ever made, and looks more to be a siren built out of various different parts including an SD-10's housing.

So, it isn't a modified STH-10?

There’s no such thing as a single tone SD-10. The SD-10 was developed specifically to be a dual tone siren to complement the STL-10 per Federal’s own advertising.

Absolutely not. An STH-10's rotor/stator is much larger than an SD-10's, and wouldn't fit in an SD-10's housing. Plus, the STH-10 has circular cutouts around the stator ports which the Monmouth IL siren lacks. It's unknown what siren makes up the core of that siren.
