This might actually be correct, because in one of the photos you showed, you can see what looks to be a toob hurricane in the background!

DeKalb had a Hurricane on the campus of Northern Illinois University 100%. Any Hurricane in DeKalb was replaced no later than the late 1980s when their system of round back 2001s went in. There's a round back 2001 at the entrance to campus that took the place of that Hurricane.

andreblakewaskewitch's photos are all of Northern Illinois University and its Hurricane.

Dekalb’s hurricanes were replaced in 1989 supposedly due to failing to sound for a tornado warning, in some of andreblakewaskewitch's photos you can see the unit in the background, it looks to be the prototype people kept talking about.
