There were 2 ACA hurricane MK2's in Moore, both were removed immediately after the 1999 tornado, I'm not sure where they ended up after that.
We had one in the Addyston neighborhood of Cincinnati, OH that failed to work during a tornado outbreak in 1999. It was removed and saved by a local siren contractor and is still in his yard. My guess is the Moore units are either long scrapped or sitting in someone's barn. I'm not sure who operates out there in Moore but I bet a local contractor would know.SpanishFriedEggs wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2025 9:23 pmThere were 2 ACA hurricane MK2's in Moore, both were removed immediately after the 1999 tornado, I'm not sure where they ended up after that.
Goddard services the sirens in Moore, it's possible that they ended up in their yard and later on got moved somewhere else, but im not 100% sure.CincyTboltman wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 10:27 pmWe had one in the Addyston neighborhood of Cincinnati, OH that failed to work during a tornado outbreak in 1999. This looks very similar too Fire Station 39's Hurricane. That house in the background lines up. However the controls are slightly different so Im not quite sure.BananaSalad wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 10:13 pmTake this with a pinch of salt, but someone told me one of the Hurricanes shown in the 1979 tape was one of Moore's units
