Hi Everyone,
I posted about this in Nebraska's statewide map discussion board. On a recent trip to Fremont, I had discovered that one of their many SRNs had been replaced with a 130, which had me amused to put it mildly. However, I knew that it is possible that something had caused it to fail. However, on an event more recent trip I had discovered that FIVE of the EIGHT SRNs in town had been replaced with 130s. I knew at that exact moment that somebody was up to no good. That somebody in question-- none other than Blue Valley Public Safety (if you like them, I profusely apologize.) Blue Valley has had a history of not being well liked in Nebraska-- as they were in charge of the replacement of the perfectly functional Westmont Thunderbolt, as well as the Superbanschee in Norfolk. They are now ripping right through Fremont (local news indicated they were originally to install five new sirens, of which there are three that I know of, but nothing about replacing existing ones).
Fremont has a very well known Thunderbolt as well as an XT22 currently in service for the minute. However, I believe what is left of the current system, including both sirens mentioned above are in IMMINENT DANGER of being replaced. If you have any interest in Thunderbolts or XT22s, I would get up there ASAP. According to the city, tests are the First Wednesday at 11 AM.
