RE: Pittsburgh Sirens Entry in YouTube Video Group

Wed Oct 17, 2007 7:11 pm

These don't sound electric to me. My guess is that they're either Federal 3/5 or single tone Banshees (because of superquick wind-up and nasal/triangular wave-like quality which Federals don't have and some ASC/ACA's do).
Anyone (from the area especially) who can help please suggest.

Thank You.

I'd try to respond with an apology in Klingon; but IIRC they aren't particularly inclined emotionally.

So along with all due apologies in the mother tongue, I give you:

I'm inclined to think after hearing it a couple of times that it's a somewhat souped-up Fed 3/5.

They sound much like Fed. Sig. 2001's to me. Can't tell what the deeper sounding one is though.

Sounds kind of like an early 2001

Sounds like a Model 5 to me...Allegheny County has tons of them.

that's a 5 for sure. I'd recognize that sound anywhere. Sounds like at least 2 of them.

Deff a model 5 form a distance, such a beautiful sound!
