ATI Westminster Chimes and Voice; ATI and P-15 in Alert

Sat Mar 08, 2008 9:15 am

I don't believe this has been posted. It is a ATI in Arnold, MO doing Westminster Chimes and voice.

This is from a news clip...it shows a P15(?) going off and then a ATI going off. The ATI in this clip doesn't seem to ear-piercing.

Those two ATI's are much lower pitched than other ATI's I've heard. If these ATI's are capable of a tone like Westminster Chimes, why can't they sound in a proper siren tone, like Whelens? I still didn't hear a wind-up in that second one. The electro-mechanical siren sounded like a Banshee to me.

I like the Chimes, and actually that last clip sounded OK besides that it has no wind-up. But it sounded OK. (I'm not implying that I like ATI, but this one sounded OK)

I liked the P-10 winding up in the news clip but hearing the pathetic sound of the ATI made me mad, seeing something awesome getting replaced with such a total piece of crap.

I do have to say, the ATI surprised me. I was expecting something reminiscent of the broken dual-tone EOWS 612 chimes. But the video showed that the volume was... substandard.

Oh, and since when have ATI's played sounds?
