Whelen siren emulation

Since I couldn't get a recording of the STH-10 in Caneyville this past week, I decided to do a brief Whelen siren emulation on my Yamaha Tyros2 keyboard and a 325 watt amp. This was done outdoors, in an area called Pine Knob, just outside of Caneyville, where I want to install a siren of my own. This emulation isn't perfect, because I was doing it live using the pitch bend wheel. I decided to emulate a Whelen at the last minute, instead of playing my Thunderbolt emulation, partly because I could record the echo off the knob better with short blasts. No artificial reverb or delay was used.

Not bad on the alert... The Whoop.. Coulda' been better though... Who yelled at the end?

Yeah, I know the Whoop could have been better. If I would have had time, I would have used the sequencer, and I would have used portamento instead of the pitch bend wheel. I should have done Wail instead of Whoop, because it would have been easier to do live. Also, it was evening, and it was getting late, so I didn't want to do it too long. That was me yelling at the end, telling my friend with the recorder that I was done.

I plan on doing another Whelen emulation soon with most of the signals. I'll have to use artificial reverb next time though. The Air Horn signal will be the hardest to duplicate, and I'll have to use my other synthesizer to do that.
