The above bumper Q's are Q's, the in-bumper ones are E-Q2s. Zetronist is right, It's impossible to imagine these guys overlooked the sides, rear, and maybe top and bottom of the truck.

As far as waste goes, you're too quick to say that. Keeping members interested and active has a value. Helping them to take pride in their equipment and their department is worth something, too. Civic pride counts for a lot.

They had to get the Mars lights and Roto-Ray off the collectors' market. I'm going to guess they don't get a lot of the money for the extra gew-gaws from the taxpayers, but from other sources.

I don't think I'd do the same thing if I ran the place, but money spent on pride and a sense of ownership of the organization isn't wasted.

Half million dollar firetruck parked in a friggin BandAid can for a building.
I wonder if it has digital pump control and an onboard hose drier too.

At least the monument builders around here know half million dollar trucks should be parked in 6 million dollar brick buildings.

I'd be embarrassed to drive it.

HOWEVER, if the Roto-Ray and the Mars lights are collector's items, that's not so bad. I'd rather have the in use than doing nothing.

But TWO bells?
2 Q2s and 2 EQs ? $7,000.00 just for the sirens alone?
(Would be fun to hear the beat notes of the two Qs.)

What's duh green headlights? Command?

The green headlights?

Aparently they blew the wad on lights and had to settle for substandard GPS equipment. They think they are part of Chicogo FD.

John Dorgan is still sort of the collectors' market, he being arguably the biggest light collector of all. He's got enough Mars lights to offer them on a regular basis, then? Good for him.

That is one really siren-and-light-full fire truck.
I live in a quiet neighborhood, so, glad that a local Fire Station doesn't have that truck!
There is a thunderbolt siren in my head, it is always going off...
