2T22 at Boy Scout Camp

Mon Aug 07, 2006 9:08 pm

At Camp Cedars in Fremont, Nebraska they have a 2t22 which they would use to sound for a fire or to gather everybody. I was about 30 feet from the pole when it did 4 cycles of attack for a drill. Later that week we actually got bad storms and It was sounded for a Tornado Warning and then again to gather everybody. Thats the first omnidirectional siren I have ever heard and seen.
Goodbye everybody I will miss this board.

Baiting Hollow Scout Camp (Suffolk County, Long Island, NY) has a P-15 mounted directly behind their dining hall. It was one of the old Shoreham NY nuke sirens that they decommissioned and gave one to the scouts. They use it for much the same things as you speak of, also for fires in the camp.

How weird the 2t22 is placed right off to the side of the dining hall.
