2nd try at melvindale, MI 1003 Updated 8-23

Well, I got a 1003 recorded (finally).

You can hear either the refinery or rouge ford plant sirens going off in the beginning.

I record it from a much further distance then the other videos of this siren.

Nice video! Now that I know that thing works I might have to go down there next Saturday and nab a recording of it :).

This is one of my favorite Thunderbolts. You picked a good distance to record it from too. I hope it doesn't get replaced any time soon. They do need to check the brushes though, because it is fluctuating in pitch just a little, but it still sounds great.

That's an awesome video, Eric. Do you think it will ever sound Hi-Lo since it's still there?

The sirens at the beginning sound like 2001's, but they don't sound to me like they're rotating.

The siren in the begining is a STH-10. It's pole mounted near Fort St. and Scheafer st.

I tried to record it today, but the only place to get a good video of it is on Marathon property. I asked, but they said they would have to ask the person in charge, but they weren't in today. So I went back and rerecorded the melvindale 1003 again with the tripod on the ground so there's no shaking.
