Finally got a Tbolt

Sun Jan 25, 2009 3:46 pm

Hey guys, well I finally found a Thunderbolt. It's a 1003-C, and it's gonna need a lot of work. I got it home Friday and started tearing it down. I've got the manuals, but I will undoubtedly have some questions. So just a heads up and any/all help will be much appreciated.

Is it the one that was on Ebay? I think that one was in Arkansas.

Did the guy have any more of the pieces to it?
I noticed the rotator covers were not on the thing, that the blower motor was missing and that the blower cover wasn't in the photo.
Did he have any of the controls boxes around there when you went to pick it up?

No, unfortunately he didn?t have the blower motor, covers, or RCM1/3 or AF timer. Very disappointing, but I?d rather have most of a Thunderbolt than none at all.

The motor will be easy to find. there are a lot of 7.5HP single phases out there. The blower covers should be easy to make, if you have access to a metal brake.
If you need help on anything but the solenoids, gimme a holler, I have a 1000 that I'm redoing VERY thoroughly.

Yeah I use to work in HVAC before the FD, so I have full access to a metal shop :D Wasn't to concerned there...I figured I wouldn't have a problem locating a replacement blower motor, and everything else looks pretty fair. The only thing I'm concerned about is finding RCM1/3, and an AF. Thanks for the help and suggestions!
