It would be nice if somebody would get more videos of the Glassport 1000T, it's almost a legend.

I think they were really going to try very hard to get the 1003 going once again and might of by now. I know Limerick and I believe also Peach Bottom test monthly but I'm not sure on the dates. I do both plants use 1000s with I think at least one 1000T in Peach Bottom's system.
BTW, do you know what will replace that 1003 if it does get replaced?
I don't. from what I heard the FD was concentrating more on fixing the 1003 than shopping around for a replacment.

If anyone lives in Annville, PA (just outside of Hershey in Lebanon County) there's a Thunderbolt at the fire department. Heard it a few weeks ago, it's a dual-tone.

I live about 2 hours from Glassport. My former band played a show directly across the street from this thunderbolt, and it was the first one I have ever seen in person. I have also never heard a dual tone siren with a minor third interval.

I have the means of recording high quality audio in stereo, because I run a recording studio. I would be more than willing to make a trip down on test day to get a good recording. Does anyone know if/when they test?

Do you have any more info on this siren? Address? Test times? I live in Blair county, and this may be the closest 'bolt around.

That whole group of FD's that Glassport's a part of has a pager/siren test Tuesdays at noon........I'm not from that immediate area though so I can't tell you one way or the other if the thing actually still goes off or not.

Do they use the t-bolt or the Model 5 in that one pic?

Has anyone heard anything about the Monroeville siren recently?

There is a 1003 in Palmyra in Lebanon county that sits on top of the fire station. (used for fire calls) And many many moons ago there use to also be one in Annville Lebanon county that is no longer there and I don't know when it was removed must have been a long time ago. But I still remember it well as a kid it wasn't at the fire company but sat on top of a building by the square. I'm not sure if it was used for fire calls back then. Also Limerick and Peach Bottom Neclear plants have them for there outdoor warning systems. Allthough I have now noticed Limerick just put up a 2001 so this might be signs of whats to come.
