What's the difference between an STH-10 and STL-10?
I know that there are STH- and STL- 10's, but what is the difference between the two?

STH10s were the high tone version of the two sirens (Single Tone High 10 horsepower). The STH10 had 12 stator ports and 12 horns.

The STL10 was the low tone version of the two (Single Tone Low 10 horsepower). The STL10 had 7 stator ports and 7 horns.

I've always heard both words used interchangeably though.
Since I got the STH/STL10 wrong, what does the SD10 stand for? I've always heard that stood for Special Dual 10 horsepower.

I was about to ask that.
My Chinese wife call them "Garbage can on pole."
I recorded an SD-10.
Was very loud near the bottom of the pole from which I made the recording. I wanted to hear the pole-mounted controller operate.
Seems that too much sound goes down which would be.tter projected out.
