Nice! I believe the term for this color would be turquoise, too.

Since it has the big control box it appears to be a single phase siren, plus it has that odd stepped windup that occurs when they start capacitors drop out.

I almost said bad starter caps, but I thought that since single phase sirens are usually lower pitched than 3 phase sirens, that this one was 3 phase because it does peak at the normal pitch for a 15 HP Allertor. It reminds me a little of that P-10 that TexasChad posted a vid of a wile back which had bad starter caps. This one doesn't sound as bad as that P-10 though.

This siren's wind-up also reminds me of a 500AT.

Ramfett , that was an exellent recording you did of that Allertor. I added it to my favorites on my Youtube channel. I like it how you were at the side of the Allertor so you could see the Allertor's horn facing you on the windown because you could hear the windown directley , not facing away from you. I liked listening to it on the windown to silence. I also liked seeing the rotor spinning on the windown. I do not know but , I think the colour of the Allertor is , aqua blue or turquoise blue. I am tied between those two colours.

Single phase capacitor start sirens hit the same speed as three phase ones. The start caps have nothing to do with the pitch, since they drop out during the windup and let the run caps takeover.

Well, here's a nice green one. Don't know where it was taken at.
