The end of audible testing

Tue Aug 17, 2010 2:11 am

this topic was inspired by the day i went out to Euless to go see them test their FS-2001 SRN's but they never went off, the weather was clear im wondering if that the siren was in a residential neighborhood was why they didn't activate it but other times before they did set them off i only heard bedford set their sirens off which is why the next time i go get a test im going to bedford because i know they audible test. im afraid that i may be witnessing the end of audible testing!! :?

Definitely go to Bedford. They have a P-50/T135 and a T-128 that are really close together.

problem is i wish i had a way of knowing not many cities do, some have whelens and SI test instead and i am very lucky if i find on the city website what exactly happens for testing.

Record for longest run-on sentence? :P
But seriously, you could email or call the towns who are responsible. I am always nervous to call though, so I usually try email if it is available.

Then again it could always be they forgot to test them or there was something going on. I know here in Reedsburg they have quite a few "We forgot to test them"s. That may be the case for them.

I'm thinking that this is a case of "we forgot to test," or you showed up at the wrong time. Dallas/Ft. Worth area has decided that they will test either Noon, 1PM, or 2PM, on the first Wednesday of the month. A small percentage of NT cities do other days like the first Saturday at Noon, or the first Wednesday at 9AM. Almost all D/FW cities have their procedures listed online, or at least have a phone number for you to call. I would suggest doing so before making assumptions.

i had confirmed it a while ago. the city of euless tests their system the first wednesday of each month @ 1:00 p.m as does other cities do their tests all in conjunction. im thinking it was more of they either chose not to activate them or they forgot.
