Tinley Park's Thunderbolt 1003

Tue Sep 07, 2010 6:26 pm

Well, it's been a while since I've recorded a siren. So, I asked my father to take me to Tinley Park, IL so that I can record that Thunderbolt 1003 since he was on vacation. And I finally got a video of it after wating years. Enjoy! :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFrmrf7xM5s

There's nothing like the Thunderbolt! That one sounds great. I wonder if that one could still do hi-lo.
I love firefighting and sirens. Somehow they go together.

This siren used to do Hi-Lo, but they don't test it anymore. I forgot why, though. That's what I heard.

Yeah, I couldn't help the wind noise. Glad you like it, though.

They don't test it anymore because it used to signal an escape from the Tinley Park Mental Hospital (since closed). They don't test it so as not to confuse local residents. Awesome video :D
