Dearborn, Michigan sounds the sirens for snow emergencies as well, so it wouldn't be surprising for them!
Resident of a county with big a mixture of sirens, but in the process of being replaced. :(

That's one weird sounding 1000.

I'm surprised that they used the Alert signal for a snow emergency.

Yeah the sound surprised me too. It sounded really similar to a 2001-130 when it wasn't pointed directly at the camera.

I guess the alert signal usage didn't surprise me that much, since alert is typical for weather warnings.

It's weird how after the blower shuts down, it doesn't get much softer. It's almost as if the blower is underpowered.

I'm not sure, but this siren could be a 1003 with the high damper stuck closed, although I've heard another 1000somewhere else on YouTube with a similar undertone. This thing almost sounds dual tone.

Yeah, the supercharging component might be having a problem or multiple problems. The standpipe might have cracks/holes/etc. in it, or the blower itself or blower motor might be wearing out.
In regards to what you were saying about it being a possible 1003, one of the solenoids might be stuck not quite completely shut, but really close, creating one tone with a very faint undertone.
Also, sometimes t-bolts up close seem to sound like they have more tones than they actually have, with the sound waves from the blower blending in with the chopper (dual tone t-bolts might seem to have different pitches than the chopper is actually putting out, and single tone t-bolts have a distinct undertone, almost making them sound dual-tone). Just my two cents.

My avatar is a pic of the T-bolt is behind Evanston,. IL FD Station 5. I took it last summer. I have some family a few blocks away from that station. The sirens sound in the winter for the plowing/parking on the street thing. Summertime they are used for severe weather.

Cool! It looks like they take pretty good care of their t-bolt (judging by the paint looking like its in pretty good shape).
Would you mind making a recording of it sometime?

Evanston Station 5. You can see the t-bolt just above the roof line. As for recording I live in Michigan and only make it to Evanston a couple times a year. If I happen to be there on a test day I will try to record the siren but it will be a few months before I get back over there.
