500AT 9/12 port

Tue May 03, 2011 1:42 am

Figured I`d post another good recording from amtrack3501. I don`t know how this kid does it, but he always seems to get the best recordings! this siren is a 9/12 port 500-AT in Monticello,IN.

That is indeed a nice recording, the siren sounds quite healthy. :)

Sounds very awesome, but once again - damn shame the test is so short.

Awesome windup! You can see the tree branches moving from the air being moved by the siren!

It's on Fisher Street and I have Fisher cousins in Monticello. Small world.

The only complaint I have is that they didn't do Attack. That would have sounded great with that echo. That's in deed a great recording.

Those 500's have a low cutoff frequency, about the same as a Thunderbolt. They sound really good for only having a 5 HP motor. I guess it's the horn design.

That's a 10 horse, same guts as an SD-10, except the motor has a double shaft sticking out the back.
