Sirens around Southeastern Idaho *Update 5/9/2015*

The Fedelcode Model 2 has it's two louvers placed farther apart than the Federal.

Yes, the Model 2 you posted is a Fedelcode. You can even see the big "FEDELCODE" tag on it. Hope I'm making sense and that no one minds me posting pics.

I see. So is there a way to tell between the 3/5/7 without actually looking at the ID plate or motor?

The Model 3 has a smaller housing, and the two louvers are closer together. There isn't really a way to tell between a 5 and a 7.

That's right.

Also, you could tell the difference between a 5 and a 7 by the windup. The 5's windup is smooth and steady and usually peaks at E or F5 (around 690Hz) and a 7 has a windup with a jolt at the end that peaks slightly higher.

Bah, too bad the only 5/7 I know of isn't working. I'm guessing that its a Model 5 by the size of the city its in. Hopefully it will be fixed one day... Anyway, I eventually plan on going to all of the locations that I have found sirens and getting pics of the controls, so I should also be able to ask about getting that one fixed :\

If you go to Shoshone, there is a Model 2 and a 5 sharing the same pole. Also, there is a Thunderbolt on the Ada County courthouse in Boise, plus several newly-installed 2001's in the Boise foothills for use as flood sirens.

Yeah, I heard theres also a siren in Nezperce (north of Lewiston) that goes off at noon. Lewiston is a little far for me, and Boise is even farther. Its cool that one of the Tbolts still stands though.

Another update, this one on the Rexburg-Madison County Fire Department/EMS building. First ACA siren I've seen around here, all the rest have been Federal Signal and Whelen
