I had the same problem but for a different reason. I have sirens tied into a Gamewell municipal telegraph system. Occasionally we will get an open circuit due to a line down or box failure. As long as the circuit stays open the timers restart resulting in continuous cycling. I used a P B time delay relay set for 3 plus minutes (slightly longer than timer cycle). Problem solved.

PS. SIRENMAN did you get my message about brushes and springs ?
My neighbors just love me !!

Wow, I guess if it ain't broke don't fix it. How much does it cost to maintain the system? Are the lines owned by the city or do they have to lease them?

Are you serious? Last I heard, the installation was going to start in July and be completed by the end of the year. They don't have installation lined up yet. One would think the bidding should have this been done after the contract was rewarded, or even before.

There is always some sort of delay.

It should probably start shortly after the bid is awarded to somebody, which should be in July.
Resident of a county with big a mixture of sirens, but in the process of being replaced. :(

Lockland Thunderbolt on top of Sterns and Foster Building

Thu Jun 30, 2011 2:26 am

While heading to West Chester for dinner tonight to celebrate my mom's and aunt's birthdays we were on I-75 North and when we were passing the old Sterns and Foster building, I noticed that the Thunderbolt is no longer inoperable. Instead of the horn facing towards I-75 South, it was facing towards I-75 North in the direction of the GE Aircraft Facility. Is it fixed? If it is fixed, what was wrong with it?
