That is overkill, but I would like it.
Am surprised people do not request that it be lessened.

Why only 200 feet apart?
Are they planning to remove or transplant the model 5?
I'd love to hear the interference frequencies between the two.

I'm not sure if the Model 5 is in service or not. I don't think it is, though.

Mulberry Kansas sets off their two model 2's and 1 sterling everyday at noon including Sundays. suprised me that they would do that on Sundays.

Well, there is nothing like tradition and habit.
But Sunday?
Maybe it is useful in reminding rambling pastors that their sermons are running over.

I'd get sick of having to listen to the same siren every day... seriously! Once a week is enough!

Weekly would be enough of a test, anyway.

Would be interesting to know the actual life of an air raid siren.

It will spin just so many revolutions before it wears out.
The single phase motors also have brushes which wear out.

Daily tests will wear them out prematurely.

Recommended tests are 1 to 3 minutes per month = 12 to 36 minutes/year.

They are already at 6 hours per year.

My fire department has a ridiculous policy of operating emergency lights when backing. (We back with a backer.)

We have more wear from leaving lights operating when parked at scenes and when backing than from emergency responses.
Of course, Fed Sig and all the rest love for us to wear their stuff out so they can sell replacement parts at exorbitant prices.

The Sterling M siren in Silverton has been sounding daily at noon for over eighty years on the original motor. They last a long time.

Sterling sirens are the toughest sirens known in North America. I've sent Detroit a letter on the second, and I'll see the results.

The 3-phase Model 5 we have in Mount Hope has been sounding a noon blast every day (except Sunday) since the early 1970s and it has yet to be serviced.
