Yes, i would say by the general large size of the old whelen 3016s, that they were quite heavy. And that would probably have been enough force by the car hitting the pole to snap the siren speaker head from its oscillator.

Compared to the newer ones, bloody oath they'd be heavier!

Fibreglass weighs a helluva lot less than metal!

Despite weight, the 3016 is easier to knock down anyway, because of its bigger proportion of height compared to its width, compared to the rotating Whelen sirens today.

I drove by that location and the pole was leaning slightly, also the batteries were knocked out and laying on the ground.

It will likely be replaced with a 2810 that is what all the newest installs have been here in Tulsa.
