It's actually an outdoor warning siren. Here is some reading on the subject.

In all seriousness, on the very limited zoom of Bing Maps Birdseye it looks like a Model X. Furthermore, there is a link on the Prior Lake PD website to a map of their sirens. They state that the siren in question only has a half-mile range compared to their others (I'm guessing 2001s). Of course that stat is complete garbage, but based on the usual Banshee dB output it could indeed be one.[/url]

I love the Banshee, looks like Indiana Jones' hat. The Sentry 3v8 looks like Willy Wonka's hat. Perhaps only the best sirens look like hats?



EDIT: Holy crap, the single tone Banshee is 8 ports, just like the 3v8.

I was making a joke cause the 3v8 and the Banshee are 2 of my favorites and they both happen to look like hats. Jeez, why is everyone so super-serious around here?

Yes, Prior Lake also has a bunch of 2001's, so this siren confused me. And it wasn't a Model X, because the motor was on top.
