Niles always tests 3 minutes. Unfortunately I missed the test of the rebuilt Allertor last week, but I may try to record a combo of the Watervliet Sentry and Palisades Nuclear 2001 tomorrow. They are right next to each other and in April, the 2001 goes a full three minutes. Usually it activates shortly after the Sentry, so it could make for an interesting combination.

St. Joe county goes for roughly a minute, everything else around here is 3 minutes with the exception of Laporte county which is 6 minutes. 3 minutes of alert and 3 of attack.

Yep. I work in Coloma, so hopefully I can take my lunch break at the right time and get to Watervliet for the test. The way the timers are set right now, the Coloma STH goes off first, then the M5 starts during the STH's wind down. The Palisades sirens start around the same time, and there are at least 3 or 4 audible where I work. Taking an ambient recording in the middle of all those sirens might be interesting too. Hmm...

Since the new system...my city doesn't test. Ever. It was on Fridays when the Federals were around for a three minute alert.

Actually I never noticed how long my city test their sirens, but I'm guessing Massillon tests for 1 minute each Monday of the month.

In regards to the Thunderbolt video - and, yes, I
did infact watch it
all the way through, lol - my initial reaction was
'I bet nobody ever thought they'd live to see a Thunderbolt do Fast Wail'.
Now, onto the question... let's see... (I've moved around alot)
Warren, MI = 3 mins. Alert
Royal Oak, MI = 3 mins. Alert
Birmingham, MI = 3 mins. Alert [dont know that one for fact, but I believe
all of Oakland County does - I have yet to be home on a test day since moving here]
I know when
Harper Woods had Tbolts, they did 3 mins. Alert, but I know that at least the new 2001-130 at Salter Park does a 1 min. Alert.
Thats all I know off the top of my head. As you've seen in the vids, Detroit's times are all screwed up - altho they
do test both Alert
and Attack.
