The Siren Board

Dylan, I believe that the answer to Marquette's siren is located on the water tower, under the tank on one of the support legs....there may be possibly another siren in town as well (siren on the water tower for the fire dept. other siren for severe weather...?or visa-versa) I rolled thru Marquette last fall so my memory could be off some

The one on the water tower next to the fire department on the north side of town is a Sentry 3V8, and is Marquette's only siren last I knew of. Kind of thought with the placement of it that there would be another somewhere on the south end, but nothing's ever shown up around that area. As for the Thunderbolt(s) in the "M" town near Salina, the only place that fits the bill is McPherson. That's the only city that close to Saline County that has a multiple-siren system that includes at least one Thunderbolt, at least that I'm aware of anyway.

....Not to be a dick about this I spend quite a bit of time with work running the highways and county roads in that area.....McPherson is South of Salina in McPherson County on I-135....Marquette is South West of Salina also in McPherson Co. on St. Hwy 4. Here is a link that shows the EF-1 track and related info. reference the Tornado that tracked thru McPherson Co. well to the South of the city of McPherson.

and here is a link reference the EF-4 Tornado that tracked just outside of the city of Marquette to the West. The time frame of this paticular Tornado was between 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Marquette is only 2-3 Miles South of the Saline/McPherson County line, where as the city of McPherson is at least 25+ miles farther South of the county line.....the nearest Tornado to the city of McPherson was another 12 to 15 miles South of the city of McPherson or ,at least, 40 miles South of Saline Co.
The sirens in Saline Co. where sounded when the Tornado in McPherson Co.,just outside of Marquette, tracked into Saline Co. (it lifted Southwest of the city of Salina and dropped again just Northeast of Salina..the Blue tracks on the 2nd. image link) there was also a second cell that produced a Tornado that tracked to the South and South East of Salina (Red track on the 2nd. image link)

Marquette doesn't have the allertor, Lindsborg does! Lindsborg is a small town to the east of Marquette, yeah only siren in Marquette I know of is the Sentry.

I drove through this little dutch town while chasing the other week. All I saw there on the pass through of the town (and getting lost (damnit)) was two xT22's.

There is the town of Raymond, KS that has two different sirens Darley(?) and a Sentry?

They're actually both on the same road, one being at the water tower and the other is to the east, just past Bethany College.

I went down to Lindsborg, KS over spring break last year, and all that I saw was the Allertor on KS-4 and McPherson St.
