To me, that sign says "Noland", which is a plumbing company.

After a closer look it does say Noland.

It is Noland, my mistake. Do any of you two know if the building still exists?

Also, I found this, thought it was interesting.

Unknown building, Gas-powered MD mounted on corner
That was the "Noland" building in Atlanta. I recall seeing that siren a number of times.

Atlanta had a number of the MDs in various locations. The one atop Hurt Bldg. downtown was nicknamed "Big Myrtle." It was painted red. Back in the early 70s I took summer classes at GA State Univ; saw "Big Myrtle" as I walked from the bus stop to the school.

There was also a MD atop a building on Peachtree farther out from downtown. The Coach & 6 restaurant was located in this building.

I do recall seeing the Tbolt at Little 5 Points. There was another one farther out Roswell Rd; N of its intersection with Abernathy.

Atlanta also had Model 5s in various locations throughout the city. There were also SD-10s at fire stations on Monroe Dr.(near I-85 exit) and one at a fire station off Mt. Paran Rd.

The building is long gone.

It may have been razed before I moved away from the Atlanta area in 1989.

I found a postcard of Atlanta from 1970. It shows the Noland Building MD. I circled it in black so it can be seen easier.

Sorry for another thread bump, but I found some more images of old sirens in Atlanta:
Image
Noland Building MD in foreground underneath the Noland Sign (1972-ish)
Image
Noland Building MD again (1978, Notice that it is in a different position?)
Image Postcard that shows Big Myrtle (1965, Circled the MD in red)

Sorry for image size and bumping my own topic again...

Tell me about it...

EDIT: A couple more Noland MD pics.

(1965) You can clearly see the MD.
Image
(1967) You can see the siren in front of a building.

I find it odd that most of the images have MD's in them and only one has a Thunderbolt...
