If only I could get my hands on one...I was so close one time. :(
I noticed how cheap they looked. They are probably not ATI cheap but nothing compared to FS, ASC, or Sentry. Don't even compare it to the Mobil Directo. Those old sirens are built like tanks.

To me this siren sounds just like a Model 5

Yeah it was a disappointment in the sound and loudness category. But hey, only video of a CTI on the net so far. I got a POV recording from my iPhone and you can really tell how loud it is here.

For those interested in the Stroud setup..I emailed the library a couple of days ago to see if they had any historical info in Stroud regarding Civil Defense. Apparently, they never stopped calling it Civil Defense, because it still shows on their website. Anyway, I got a reply from them and it basically said that they most likely had info, but they would have to do some research and dig it up. They have a full newspaper archive so I imagine something will be in there somewhere.

Wow, its like someone took a 2001 rotor and stuffed it in a P-10! I was surprised, I was expecting a 9/12 sound.

Hard to believe there's a 15-horse motor powering that thing, if that's what the name implies.

It sounds like one of those cheap Chinese crap-tastic sirens you get off eBay.

It doesn't really sound that bad. It sounds like a Model 5 without that awesome reverb during the wind-up.

Crazywarriorman wrote:Awesome video, and photos! Looks like the birthchild of a 2001 and P-15. That Stroud structure looks it could've been a Chrysler installation. Do you know if it was or not?
Agreed, that was my first thought.

I agree on the Chrysler theory. I highly doubt they would originally have installed such a large tower for a P-10.
