You do realize you have made completely contradictory statements...offering up something as fact, then admitting you have never heard them to know.

Unless they recorded the Whelen and are playing back a recording, those Whelens will sound like any other UltraVoice controlled siren.

You do realize that you have come off as somewhat of a jerk. By having not heard the fs boxed whelen, I meant up close. Previous to 2010 or whenever they installed the fs boxes, the sirens sounded like the ones in the video. I have actually heard the whelen at central & Vernon before. it was the normal 435hz. As for the rest with fs boxes, I have no idea. I suppose they will sound like whelens, but I have never heard the FS boxed whelens.

That whelen is nothing more than a fancy speaker on a pole. It just drives the sound put through them, in this case what ever tone that FS box has. It will sound like a modulator.

All of the hornmann sirens in pearl harbor have federal UV controllers, just like all the other electronic sirens on the island.

When they first installed these the one by mcDonalds had a voice message, if I remember, someone picked up the mic at the box after installation and said "Warning: this is a test, this is a test." and they blew alert for about 10 seconds.

And it's too bad they took down the 2t22 by the railroad track and replaced the one by Alpha dental with a 2001 :(

A siren on a UV controller sounds like a siren on a UV controller two years after the OP? Someone call the Huffington Post!
