Thats where most of these came from. Sound bytes from our vids. Thats OK though. We have a pretty good relationship with the EOC office and employees here. Really nice people. Thats why I posted that they could have just put links to the vids if they wanted. This works too. They should have used the other 4000 sound that we have as it sounds great. This one has some issues.

Did they ever do anything with that 2T22 that kicked the bucket? Last I heard they were thinking about rewinding the motor and replacing that glitchy Allertronic with it.

KDK's Video.
I have seen this video before, and yeah it does sound quite rough. To me it sounds a little like a Thunderbolt.

They rebuilt it and was on the ground at the city's storage/ central building. It is gone now and may very well be up where this 4000 is. Thats where they said it was going. Will have to make a trip over there and see.

Would they take the 4000 back to the city storage? Or would they junk it?

I doubt they junk it. Usually will go to auction or get repaired and put back somewhere else. The 508 went up where the 2T22 was at. We keep looking for the auction but don't know when it will be. The director had told me that he was wanting to put the 2T22 up where the 4000 is now but will have to go by and check it out. Its in a mobile home community on the SW side of town and is gated so sometimes hard to get in.

Hm... since they are using FS sirens, what are the chances of it getting reinstalled with a UV controller? Doesn't it just use 8 100 watt drivers?

It's unlikely that the AL4000 will get reinstalled. For whatever reason they didn't really like those sirens, and only ended up putting two in the whole system. Both are a pretty good distance outside the actual city, and their coverage and warning areas aren't all that big.

They probably didn't get many because there not that loud. They would be better for a little village than a suburb of a city.

That too and Amarillo/Potter County has never been fond of electronic sirens.
